Luxury Tanzania Safari Planning

Tanzania stages the most iconic land migration on earth - the thundering hooves of a million wildebeest spilling over the Serengeti grasslands in their eternal struggle for survival. Never far behind are the big cats - cheetah, leopard and lion battling for supremacy in a fertile yet thrillingly competitive territory. We look to put you in amongst the action in isolated concessions, between predator and prey, and we don’t expect you to share the drama with a gallery of other vehicles.

There are also less well-known, yet equally as fascinating areas in this famous safari country which offer a taste of the safari days of old. Tracking chimps in the misty forests above Lake Tanganyika, and walking alone in the savannah wilderness of Katavi with your guide, both give a potentially more intimate experience of wild Tanzania.

Tracking some of the largest lion prides in Ruaha’s sandy river beds, and fly-camping in the enormous Selous Reserve really allows guests to get under the skin of the environment. Combining North, West and South Tanzania, followed by a stay on a white sandy beach in Zanzibar, or on one of the lesser known islands, offers enormously varied flavours of the country. Beware of becoming addicted to African safari if Tanzania is your first trip to the continent.
